Walgreens

Scroll down for the double plays for Walgreens for this week's sales flier, and for the Easy Saver Catalog for the month.

20% off Photo Gifts

Be sure to print off and take this list when you shop at Walgreens. Pull your coupons ahead of time if you like. Best deals are near the top of each list. The date after the coupon is when it appeared in the Sunday paper, not when it expires. The Easy Saver Catalog is available inside the door at Walgreens. You can only send the Easy Saver Catalog rebate once in the monthly time-frame, so wait until the end of the month to be sure you've done every possible rebate before mailing. If you opt to take your rebate in the form of a Walgreen gift card, they give you an extra 10% on your rebate: i.e. if they owe you $50, you can take the check for $50, or the Walgreen gift card for $55. If you plan to do the Easy Saver Catalog each month, it's smarter to take the gift card. Don't throw it away after using it. If you enter the number from your card on each month's submission, they will simply recharge your card. You get your rebate faster this way.

V = Valassis Sunday coupon insert
S = SmartSource Sunday coupon insert
RP = Red Plum (formerly Valassis)
P&G = Procter & Gamble coupon insert
For example: .75 c/o (V 9/29) means a .75 coupon which was in the Valassis insert on Sunday Sept 29.

According to my Walgreen’s, their rain checks never expire. So if they are out of something featured in their ad, especially the "7-Day Coupon" items, ask for a raincheck. Then you’ll also have more time to gather coupons on the same items. To see the EasySaver Rebate on line, go to http://www.walgreens.com/store/rebateclub.jhtml

"The W card is a new and exciting program by the Walgreens pharmacy. You can buy a discount prescription plan from Walgreens for $20 a year for one person. You can also buy the plan for an entire family. Walgreens touts the main benefit of this program as receiving discounts on your prescription medication. However to a couponer the main benefit is that the card also gives you a full 10% back in the form of a credit on your W card for all Walgreens store brand items purchased. The 10% back is based on your before coupon price, and also can be used on Walgreens store brand items that have Easysaver rebates. For example the Walgreens brand water filter is $6.99 and free after Easysaver rebate. Even though Walgreens itself is giving you the item for free after rebate, they will also still give you the 10% back for an additional .69 on your W card. You sign up for the W card at the pharmacy. You will receive a temporary card the same day. It takes about 4 weeks for your real card to come in the mail. It looks just like a credit card. The Walgreens website says that prior purchases are not eligible for the 10% bonus but that is not true. If you save your receipts and have any with store brand items purchased on them you can go online and enter those receipts for the 10% credit even though those items were purchased before you signed up for the W card. While you have the temporary card you cannot submit receipts online for credit, you must wait until the real card comes in the mail. Once the real card comes in the mail you can use it at the store. Anytime you are buying a store brand item you will want to wait until all your products and coupons have been rung up. When the cashier gives you your total, slide the W card in the debit/credit machine just like regular. The register is telling your card what items you bought and what amount of credit you will receive. The cashier again will tell you the total and now you pay just like normal and the transaction is over. On your receipt at the bottom will be a line by line print out of what items qualified and what amount of credit you received for each one. It will give you a new updated total balance for your W card. When you want to use the balance on your card to pay for something you do the same thing. Have all items rung up and slide your W card fist before any other payment method. Any balance on the card will apply to the total and you will pay the difference if there is one. If you have a transaction where you are both buying store brand items and you want to use the credit on your W card to buy them you can do that to. Just slide the card as your first method of payment and then pay any balance. At the bottom of the receipt it will show your previous balance, how much was used to pay during that transaction, and how much new credit you earned. You cannot use credit earned in one transaction to help pay for that same transaction. It must be used for a following purchase. The best part of the W card is that you receive the 10% credit on the purchase of Walgreens giftcards! This is amazing. Anyone who shops regularly at Walgreens should sign up for the program and get a W card because the 10% credit for giftcards will pay for the membership fee alone and then some. Anytime you go to Walgreens to shop, the first thing you should do is go to the register and purchase a giftcard. After the card is rung up, slide your W card, then pay cash/debit etc. for the giftcard. Now you've got the giftcard that you can turn around and use right away for the purchases you planned to make anyway and you've also got the 10% credit immediately on your W card. When you go back to the register to pay for your items you can use the giftcard and the W card to pay. You've just given yourself free money by purchasing the giftcard first. For additional information on the W card please refer to the website."
